In March or April I bought a 6 gallon spare gas tank to keep under the bow. I was thinking about cycling the gas into the main tank and refilling the spare. Is the gas still good? How long does gas last?

I have gas in my storage area that is more than a year old and it works good in everything I have used it in. Leaving gas in the carburetor is the main cause of trouble. It stops up the idle and jets and causes all kinds of trouble. But gas stored in a container doesn't seem to loose any of it's ability to do what it is supposed to do. I use old gas all the time with no trouble what so ever.

Good Luck

Just mix 50/50 with fresh gas if you are concerned.

Run it in your car or lawnmower if you are worried about it in your outboard ...:twocents:

yea, older cars will eat it fine. just dump few gallons at a time or so.
Would not risk running in outboard unless there is no other choice.
