Folks,
I have a question about the above. I have a dual axle trailer for my sled. I have heard that these things are great, but would like more opinions/thoughts. Two questions:
1) Are these things as great as people claim they are? Do they really make it simple/quick to change a spare on a dual axle trailer?
2) Where does on find them? I went to my local NAPA store: They said they could get one, but would have to special order it. And the one they had was $130-- is that the typical price? But then, if it works as claimed, it might well be worth it.
Thanks!!

I've never used one but Cabelas sells an "EZ Jack Trailer Jack" for $73.

Anyone have experience witht he EZ Jack trailer ramp? Looks good, but would like to hear from someone who has actually used the thing.........
How about a "Trailer-aid". $30 - $40 bucks. I have no experience with it.

The jack in the tow vehicle cost nothing and takes no more room :twocents:

Seems to me most of the EZ-jack gizmos would be handy for a single axle trailer, but for a dual axle can't you just pull the good tire up onto a block or a rock and the flat tire will stick up in the air?

Roy, good point if that tow vehicle has a scissors-type jack. But, some of the bottle-type may very well be too high to get under an axle with a flat tire on a single-axle trailer. Digging a pit for it under there can be a lot of fun .

Oops. 'Sorry. I thought this was what was being discussed:

I see the EZ-Jack is entirely different and designed specifically for tandem axles.

Only if you have the torsion-style suspension. It won't work with a leaf-spring suspension system, if the trailer is loaded. It might work empty.

OK, well it didn't work for me. It works fine on my cargo trailer with torsion suspension, but not on my boat trailer with leafs with the boat on the trailer. I guess results may vary.

Here is a thread from a little over a year ago.

There is some good info in it about equipment and safety stuff to have if you get a flat.

Lesson learned the hard way by me also. Embarrasing phone call to the Father in Law there. "Uhhh hey I am a dumb crap, do you have a four way lug wrench?"
Make sure you have a lug nut wrench in the truck which will actually fir the lug nuts on you boat trailer. I now carry a 4 way folding Les Schwab jobber in the truck. Has came in handy besides for the boat trailer.
