Yes, it's the upper Sycan.

Interestingly enough, I fished the upper Sycan in the Pike's Crossing area last weekend and it was a disgusting morass of crumbled banks, water tinged brown by cow poop, and cattle wallowing around in this "Wild and Scenic" river. Not a fish of consequence to be seen.

The photo musta been from way, way up. Pike's Crossing

This picture is taken on the Grande Ronde approximately 2 miles down from where Shumaker grade dumps in. There is a fire pit to your left with a metal grate on it, that is almost eroded off the river bank from high water, but its a heck of a nice campspot. There is also 4 nice smallmouth and a few "rainbows" in that picture underneith the surface of the water but you have to be looking at your computer screen with polarized glasses to see them. Across the river is another nice campspot where you don't have to worry about the Asotin County locals dowsing out your fire at 10 pm at night for fear that might "light the place up".....don't ask how I know this. :meme:

That one threw me for a bit. I thought it might be the Wenaha, in a place I hadn't been, except the ridgeline was way too low if it were the WA side.

Also thought it might be a spot on the upper Imnaha but it just didn't connect, ridgeline too low, vegetation wrong.

What I noticed was the green in the water, we don't get that in NEO very much and the gradient was fast.

Looks like high desert on top, was that the bridge crossing just South of Wamic?

Sandy, taken from the East bank, upper end of the Girlscout hole. It's been so long since I've fished that thing, might even be Dodge. But I think I remember a cliff at that hole.

I've got 2 rivers for ya'll to guess... they're actually more like "creeks" not rivers. its all flowing water though, so it's all good :D

First one: This is somewhere in the PDX metro area...

http://img265.imageshack.us/img265/851/im002173jr3.jpg

Second one: This is in the Santiam forest north of HWY 22 and east of I-5...

That's Spring runoff between the Armpit Hole and Sandbag hole on the Sandy. No clue about your creek though....

The santiam forest is East of I 5. Is this a trick question?

yes, it is a creek. Since everyone is having a hard time on that one - think west-side of the metro area.

Good grief it's been over four years since I lived over there. I'm gonna' guess that pik was taken somewhere in the Aloha vicinity.

From the bridge on 185th or 194th(second choice)

Immaputyaouttayermisery -- This pic was taken @ the outlet of the USA treatment plant in Hillsboro. They discharge their allegedly clean water straight into the creek via a pipe, which aparently shoots water vertically from the bottom. The effect is that you've got a giant bubbly jet of water year-round blasting upward causing much turmoil and creating all sorts of oddball, ever changing currents. The fish seem to love hanging out there though - the water is more or less a constant temperature, food organisms get swept up in the currents (lots of eddies and back-currents). The surface bubbling (the worst of which is not seen here) provides cover from overhead predators. This is some very difficult water to fish. I've used every legal method and nothing works any better than the other. I've toyed with the idea of getting a small boat and floating up from the Tualatin inlet to get a different angle, because there's some wonderfully deep water and ledges up and downstream of this thing - have caught some quite impressive smallmouth bass, the odd *********, yellow perch, and a few nice trout from that area. Have also hooked (hooked) some nice carp. They weren't having any of this landing nonsense - not with 4lb tippets. Bank fishing this stretch is very difficult because you either fish from atop the hill, some 20 feet above the water, or you very carefully slide about halfway down the hill at one point (which is more like a dirt cliff, same severe drop) and fish on what passes for a ledge in the dirt. Either way, I've never had the cajones to try to make it to the water level, because the dirt is soft enough on this hillside that it tends to just crumble beneath you, making the climb back up difficult at best. I'm not sure exactly how deep the water is here - you can't see bottom even on a sunny day standing atop the hill - and with the wacky currents the way they are - I don't really feel like taking a swim there...but there's some nice fishing around that upflow. It's like a spring on steroids.
