After 15 years of living in Oregon and flyfishing many of its waters it will be my first time to the Metolious. And I'm jacked! :excited:

Heading out tomorrow morning for the weekend.:meme:

If you all would be so kind, I have a couple of questions...

Any special tags or licenses needed?

We are planning to access from Camp Sherman. Best way or is it a good trip to come in from Lake Billy Chinook side. Is that even possible?

Barbless flys only. Right?

Any thing about the Reservation to watch for? Access? Wrong side of the river? Etc.?

Thanks

Have not checked the reg's this year but it is usually barbless and no lead.
I have always accessed through camp sherman. I would recomend bringing bikes if you have them so you can ride down river after road end.

Stop by the camp sherman store/fly shop on your way in. Nice people and can point you in the right direction.

Haven't seen any reports but I would think the bull trout should be coming up river...I would throw in your sinking line and some bunny leaches (I like the articulated in white or black or egg sucking) just in case!

Good luck and give us a report when you get back...
