Am looking for a good 1person/1 dog layout type boat. One that is light enough to be packed by 1 person.
Thanks,

I was looking at that H2O, will that hold a dog along with your gear?

I've hunted in all 3 sizes. I'm 5'11", 175 and the dawg is 82#. I use them for layout style hunting in the salt. The 8 is no way. We just fit in the 10' (dawg between my shins laying down, and a bag of 3 dzn dekes when paddling out). And there is a ton of room in the 12'. But, I have 2 10' models. The 12' is too big of a pain to lug around solo. If they made an 11, it would be perfect!

I have a 10' also. Myself, the dog, 2 bags of deeks and assorted other items fit. The problem with the dog is he'll be, basically, in front of you or under the muzzle. When we use ours for layout, we have a tender and the dog stays with the tender boat. Most times when I paddle somewhere, I set up against shore(island etc..). The dog is put on stay, on shore, to wait in a safe position. The pods are very stable, compared to all the other more narrow boats people are using for sneak type setups. More elbow room when laying out also.
So far as packing a pod, it depends on the person. Attbar does make a portage cart. Checkout their website for the available accessories.
