Fished East with a buddy for 2 days last weekend. The browns are biting well in the thermocline and we caught 80 of them to 7 lbs. Most were 14-18 inches with 15 or so in the 20-28 inch range. Great fishing with lots of action. Just beautiful fish. Surface temps were in the upper 60's and the fish were biting around 25 ft on kokanee plugs 4-5 inches long. We caught fish consistantly throughout the morning, day, and evening.

The kokanee fishemen were doing well too with lots of boats on the water and plenty of bent rods.

Here's 5 of the biggest browns - All were released after photos

Very nice! Looks like you and the Trophy Trout Hunter had a great trip! On Trophy Sticks? His website turned me on to those which produced some great mackinaw for me at Crescent a few weeks ago. I'm kinda itchin' to get back to East or Crescent now!!:meme:

Once again you have been rewarded for all of your hard work and long hours on the water

R.D., that's a scary lookin' hook. Do you still have all of your fingers?

Holy Crap!!! NICE FEESH!!! & great report!!

I wonder what it would take to get a fly down to those guys...I dunno if a full sink would even do it...perhaps a full sink plus a T-14 tip?

"Kokanee Plugs" is not a brand name, if that's what you meant. They were using plugs in Kokanee imitating patterns such as Rapalas, Yo-Zuris etc.

:yeahthat: Black/silver, Blue/silver, etc. not important for a dead match, just a close resemblance. Bomber B15's are a good choice, too;)

I hate to say it after "plugging" the Trophy Sticks, but I have had the finish peel off of over 50% of those things. They catch fish, but too much money for a lure that has a good chance of total melt down. If they do fail, contact the owner thru the website. He swore to me that he would send 2 for each one that gets sent back.

Just an update on the Trophy Sticks. I have been in contact with the company and they have solved the issue of the finish coming off. There was a bad batch of clear coat that I got in on and they have moved to the best (and most expensive) clear coat availible. These guys are really working hard to maintain top shelf quality and the lures just plain catch big fish. There should be no more issues and I personally would recommend getting some for your tackle box.
