I asked this on another thread with no response, I'll ask agian:

I've never fished Ochoco reservior. Want to check it out this weekend and try out my new (to me) drift boat. I don't have a motor so trolling might be tiresome. Any tips. I like to catch anything that bites!

I haven't done Ochoco for the past 2 years, but it used to be an annual trek there.
We always trolled, but still fishing can produce. Powerbait or worms. This time of year the water is warming up and the eating quality of the fish isn't as good.
Good spots are the cliff on the north side where the 10 mph marker is.
there are crappie there now, but I only have caught smaller ones.

By the way- you got a drift boat, so its a good time to work on your rowing muscles!! Get out there and troll green frog flatfish.

Trolling flashers and wedding rings along the south side across from the boat ramp usually works for trout. Find a rock outcropping or some shore structure and jig for crappie. If you are still fishing on the bottom you are likely to catch small brown bullhead - but hey if you're not picky they'll keep you busy. Go early and avoid the skiers and the the wind!

Thanks for the imput! You're right, a little trolling wouldn't kill me! I'll provide my report next week.

I also just heard that near the dock on the east side of the old restaraunt is a hot spot for crappie.

I will be there this weekend:D
