Went fishing there today for the heck of it...
Wow they lowered it alot!
I caught 5 and missed over a dozen...
Then all of a sudden the bite dead stopped.
Then I noticed a school of about 50 or so largemouths...
All of them were about 6-8in. long.
Didn't know there was such a population in Foster.
Wonder how many rainbows they're eating?!
Are there smallmouth in Foster as well?

I haven't caught any smallies in there but I have heard that they are in there. As for the water level I think I read somewhere that they are doing some dam work and needed to lower the water level.

the majority of bass in foster is smallmouth

Foster is stuffed with smallies. No size or bag limit on them either. Go up the South Santiam arm and pitch grubs around the big rocks and fill your cooler full of them and either have a fish fry or bury them in your garden.

Uhm how big can they get??
I'd fish for them if they were 12" or better...
The ones I seen were really small.

I have caught them up to 14". there are a lot of them along the rock shorelines. There are probably a few 2 and 3 pounders in there. Now you could fish submerged stumps since the water is so low.
