Anyone know where I might find such a place? Timothy Lake? I would like to get a seven year old into a good deal of trout. Any help is appreciated. I have a boat with motor if I need to search a little. Thanks.

Lake Merwin is almost exactly 1.5 hours from my place by milwaukie. You will need a Washington license, but totally with it. It's a beautiful lake with some really good sized fish. Check out the mersin report thread on the trout forums for suggestions and recent reports.
