I have houseboated from Keller Ferry to Kettle Falls. We usually fish for smallmouth and walleye. Dawn and dusk are best. Either casting to rock walls with small spinner baits or my favorite; slow troll with a variety of spinners and medium diving plugs. We usually have 4 or 5 rods out and it gets crazy when you find the fish. There are hog trout in the lake, but I don't have the downriggers for that. Good luck.

from what I have read about Roosevelt there is a great kokanee fishery there. Numbers flucuate a lot but supposedly they are very nice fish, similiar to the flaming gorge stuff jzell went after. suggest you contact the marinas around the lake for info on them. In the kokanee book I have Roosevelt is listed and talked about quite a bit.
good luck

I was just up at Roosevelt and fished about 4 miles below Keller mostly. I caught a couple on the down rigger at 40 feet, one really nice kokanee, about 18 inches. Beautiful bright fish. I had my best luck flatlining a gladclown wiggle wart. flatlined wiggle warts were out producing the down riggers fishing deep. Strange, but I will be up there in two weeks and I will be flat lining wiggle warts on all rods! Caught some nice trout doing that.

couple years ago my family rented a house boat there for a week. Did a little fishing from the back of the boat while anchored on the shore. Caught a few walleye, but I caught a nice bright Salmon about 8 pounds with power bait on the bottom from the back of the boat. Not sure what kind of Salmon it was, but it was bright and great on the grill.
