What a great evening on Paulina. The fishing was ok, but the company was what really made this evening of fishing great. I teamed up with my cousin, Scoota, to fish after I got off work. This, as far as I know, is the first time we have ever fished together. We might have lived in the same house and fished the same streams and beaver ponds as kids, but all at different times. Our paths led us both to Bend where we ran into each other at the Sportsman’s show this spring. Come to find out we both have the fever…Kokanee fever. I have to wonder if it is genetic. We promised to hook-up and fish together and it finally came to fruition.

I met Scoota right after work so I was using his gear to save me from back tracking home to get my gear. We were on the water around 5:30. Since jigging has been so productive at Paulina, we stuck to that method. Jig of choice: Gibb’s Minnow in a variety of colors, but orange and pink/white were the two best colors.

We started off out in front of the lodge and Scoota had a bite, but it was slow. We moved around the lake and fished 5 different locations. It amazes me what I learn every time I fish with someone new. I learned new spots to fish tonight and that was great. We had bites or caught fish at every location.

We ended up back in front of the lodge where we finished out our limit just before dark. We watched the thunder clouds skirt to the East and to the West all evening. We were subjected to a few small sprinkles and some wind, but over all it was a very pleasant evening on the water. I look forward to our next fishing trip.

Thanks for the trip, the sandwiches and the company.

FRG-
Absolutely one of the best reports so far this year. The catching was in second place...where it should always be!
Gibbs huh....guess I'll have to try them!

Nicely done once again Brian. Have not fished Paulina but your reports are probably as close as I'll get this year anyway. Too bad I have to work this Sat. Good luck at GP!

Man -o- Man what a great evening on the water , Thanks Brian. Hopefully I have attached a couple of pictures of last nights trip.
Paulina sure has been a great lake this year. We sure did predict how and when the bite was going to be. I only ended up with 1 mosquito bite. Sure looking foward to our next adventure. Great job on jigging. See I-Fishers, Fall River Guy does know how to Jig besides being a master troller.
