So I was digging though the tackle box and found an unopened packaged of 2" GULP curlytail swim minnows. Hot pink of the variety that steelhead like so much fished on a jig.

I start looking at them and note they are next to a bag of 2" hoochies. The wheels start turning as they're about the same size as the hoochies.

I caught a couple of nice kokes last year on hot pink hoochies behind a dodger, so I'm thinking the GULP baits may work better. Curl tail= more action.

So whilst looking at them I start ciphering and the next thing I know I'm at Joe's getting chartreuse GULP baits as well and then figure the #4 hooks may be a bit small.....so I see the #2 and #1 Gamis that are already painted chartreuse.

Long story short I've got more koke gear. Can't wait to try this stuff. Anyone tried them yet? I figure they're gonna be money behind a dodger.

I thought you only used green wedding rings!!!!!

I've never thought to try the gulp, but the green crappie jig tubes (?) work great behind a dodger with a smiley blade in front of a bead.

What flavor is the Gulp?

Them kokes will also bite the 2" salted pink steelhead worms if drug behind a gang flasher.

I'de imagine the Gulp would work fine.

You know I never thought about using hoockies for trout or kokes until this spring. I saw some guys using small bass tubes to catch some nice trout. I thought, hoochies would be great, so the next time we went we used hoochies and man they worked great. I may have to try those gulp minnows and see what happens. Thanks for the tip.

I have been using the white GULP minnows for trolling for trout this year, and they work great for them. I think the kokes will like the pink. Let us know how you do with those. :)

I was thinking the same thing!?! :D

I love the idea just as much as I love buying MORE koke gear. Is there ever too much?

Let us know how they fish!

Pretty much but I'm gradually learning change. I did contemplate ordering a green band for the ceremony in September though.

Doing a tuna trip Saturday so it looks like this weekend is out, but I may try to sneak out Sunday. I really want to try these Gulp baits. I used the pink ones in place of prawn tails behind spin/glos on the Columbia yesterday. No luck but I'd attribute it to my steelhead fishing ability, not the lure.
