View Full Version : Dam Problems at Foster
Apparently there are some problems with the gates at the Foster Dam in Sweet Home. The article linked below indicates that they are in the process of dropping the water down pretty low. There is no mention how or if this will affect Green Peter but I don't see how it could, other than putting a few more boats on it.

I look at the water at crabtree and the water was still low.
Maybe they are letting people know before the let the water out. After they get the problem fixed they will fill foster with Green Peter water. It will drop the water at Green Peter about 20 feet.

I just read the Statesman Journal and the water will go down to 613' from 636'. They are lowering the water 23 feet. That is not to much. green peter may only drop 5 feet.

So how much do you think this will raise the water lever in the S.S...?
I think the article I read indicated that it would be minimal.

Ya thats what I read.
Whats "minimal though." A foot. 2ft.... 2in...? Makes a difference in fishing.
I'd like to see it raise a foot.
I am not a river fisherman so I have no experience. But dropping the lake 23 feet this time of year, with the heat and irrigation, probably wont raise it all that much and surely not for very long. I would guess it wont take them more than a day or two to drop the water when they decide to.

They will raise the river in the am (9-11) to shut off the bite. Thats the way it seamed last year during weekend springer fishing.
The new boat ramp will be high and dry. The stumps will be closer to the surface. great time to pick up larger bass in the stump field.:twocents:
