spent Sunday at Timothy lake with a couple of friends and had a great day on the water. Started trolling wedding rings about 12-15ft down and started to get action right off the bat. Got fish steady for about 2 hours but when it got hot the troll bite turned off and we hit one of my favorite anchor spots and started to put powerbait on the bottom in about 20ft of water. We got action right away and it never stopped until we had a limit of good trout.

All and all we had over 40 trout to the boat in a couple of hours....... kept the big ones ( and the small ones that took the hook deep )and called it a day around 3pm.

the two baits that were the biggest producers were Double scent glitter in chartreuse and power eggs in chartreuse.

Just a side note...... the crawdads are starting to come out......we had three pots with liver and chicken cat food and had around 200 big crawdads by the time we left.

What depth do you put your pots for 'dads?

joemomma - no I'm sorry but i didn't pick up any brookies on this trip

Marlinmark - I was setting the traps in 12-17 ft of water close to shore on the NW side of the lake......if you go make sure you check your pots often as they fill up fast.

Great report. The dads are a nice bonus too!

Is there still a heavy algae bloom on the lake or has it run its course and disappeared?

Thanks, Jim

Great report. Thank you. Much better than going in blind.
