Wife and I fished 11a to 5p on the 14th. Picked off about 12 nice sized planters. Didn't really fish that hard, just dragged around mid-sized cowbells and homemade 'rings (green) and worm. Lots of short bites and take downs. Was more about enjoying time away from the world and time with the wife than about fishing. Great day all in all. :meme:

Have been up there the last two weekends, but to ski/play rather than fish (but threw the poles in anyway). We have a home on hoover arm and have been catching alot of fish just from the bank.
Fishing powerbait/gulp (rainbow, or green sparkle), with a sliding weight, approx. 2 1/2 ft leader (3lb), in 12-20ft water. Fished from approx 7:30am till 12 most days just casting and letting sit, fish seemed to be biting consistently.
Most fish were small planters but there were several nice looking trout in the mix (really bright and approx. 14-15in...nice suprise for detroit). Either way alot of fun for the kids.
Well, I made it up to Detroit Lake on Thursday. The weather was great, a little wind around 11:00am, which is normal. Fishing was excellent, lots of bites trolling wedding rings with worms...easy limits
The family and I are headed that way on Wednesday. What depth do you troll? What do you look for to find the bite?
Thanks

Trolled the island on the cove creek side and brought in quite a few. Again nothing over 12 inches but it was a pretty good bite. Trolling lake flashers with wedding ring and worm. Pretty shallow too, not more then 25 ft
