We are heading over to Wallowa lake for a family get away next weekend. Last time we were there was about 12 years ago.
Anyway, we are taking the boat and hope to get in a couple days of fishing. Last time we were there we trolled pretty close to the surface with the more streamlines flashers (can't remember what they are called) with wedding ring and worm. We did pretty good, but like I said, that was 12 years ago.
So.. any updates? I am going to try and call the little store there and see what they have to say as well.
Thanks
RJ

I know that there are alot of fish where the river dumps in but as far as what to use...i'm really not sure. You are on the right track as far as talking to the people at the marina. They are usually very helpfull but this time of year it might be a good idea to send them an e-mail because they are very busy and might not be able to answer the phone.

We caught several 12"ers last summer where the river dumps in with Pautzkies only, they wouldn't hit anything else we had to offer. We only fished the bank.

For trout, Floating power bait on the bottom or Single eggs, near the river inlet. Kokes are 40' or deeper and have been averaging 14"+. My brother caught a couple 18" last week and they've been getting 10 or more per rod for the last month. Mackinaw are deep, and seem ro be eating anything that looks like a koke or trout...
