Here in the trout section things are civil and the sharing free-flowing. We all have varying levels of experience and try different techniques. We fish different locals that have different conditions. No one way or technique is right or wrong. We will have our preferences and what has worked for us based on our experiences. We may disagree with one another but there is respect. We may poke at each other, but it's all in fun.
Thanks to all of you who make this section the great place it is.:applause:

My take on it is this:
I'd like anyone who wants to trout/koke fish to be able to do a bit of research on this board and have a decent shot at getting some fish the first time out.
I got the basics from iFish before I made my first kokanee trip. I really enjoy catching them and in Merwin, at least, they're basically a put-n-take fishery. It doesn't hurt that they taste great too.
Been some great ideas swapped here and I always enjoy this board.

AW, you nailed it right there! :applause: The overlying flavor of this board is sharing. what a great thing.
:agree: with everything also. I have really benefited from all the advice, from everything from downriggers, to line, to lures, to scent.......
I love this site, however, the favorite saying of "she who must be obeyed" is now "WHAT HAVE YOU BOUGHT THIS TIME".......:smash:

Well stated by all. Although I'm relatively new to this board (couple years on the hunting board, ducks mostly), it's a much welcome change of pace. Kudos to all those here who give and get back, especially you 'crusty veterans' of the board! :applause:

????? There's another forum? Not like this one:wink:
I especially want to thank everyone that whether they knew it or not were giving me advice, some better than others.
Reminds me of the advice Marshworm once gave me on jigging. I consider ole Marshy the final authority on jigging.
He told me that when jigging, if I kept my main engine running at half throttle then the noise and vibration would attract the fish. My first thought was that when rafted up to his boat I had never seen him do this, but then assumed that he had surely been saving fuel or enjoying the piece and quiet for a spell.
So I tried this system with no luck what-so-ever, at several different rpm's. Knowing that Marshworm was not one to tell tall tales, pull your leg or otherwise lead you astray, I assumed I was doing something wrong. THEN IT DAWNED ON ME.
Marshworm has a Honda, and I have a Merc. duh. Now I have to change engines.
