Fishing started out slow. We fished past a good spot so I said lets go over it one more time. The first pass was very slow fishing but the second pass we started wacking some nice keeper SIZED bass. It was like some one tossed the switch and they just turned on:cool:. Every place we fished that was like the first spot had fish and we go several on each spot. We ended the day with about 30 bass. I would say we got about 15 keeper SIZED bass. We did toss all the bass in the lake. Adam was fishing a caralina rig with a wacky rigged senko and he did very well! Adam has adjusted the way he fishes Hagg lake and should get bass every time out. The bite died out about 11am and we called it a day. It was great to meet Adam and he is a good bass fisherman! he whent toe to toe with me and edged me out with better numbers!
Thanks Adam!

For what started out as a marginal day at hagg, we managed to get into some quality fish. Roger showed me how to catch more bass at locations I commonly fish and places I seem to bypass! I learned a lot more about Hagg and now feel more confident fishing it:meme: For anyone getting the opportunity to fish with Roger you will have an excellent time!

Roger, send me a PM with your email address and I will email you the pics I took today... Including the unique turtles we spotted...:applause:

Hey Roger it was good seeing you again Friday morning. I had to leave soon after you left in boat only catching the one you saw me catch. Do you know of a place I can order 3" sencos? I live close to Hagg and have'nt been to Portland for years. What colors do you recomend? Thanks, KURT

Does anyone know if there is a population of turtles in hagg. I saw one about 7 years ago but no one ever beleives me when I tell them. Anyways looks like fun and some great fish!

hagg has a VERY small population of Western Pond Turtles, and an Invasive population of Red Eared Sliders. From what I've heard there may be some common snapping turtles as well (wouldn't surprise me if there were)

Just before we took that picture of the turtle there were 4 total on the wood! Seconds before we took the photo 3 of them leaped into the water. In addition we saw one other turtle on another stump.

alluring baits are top notch!

Roger, I am going to hagg this week with my grandfather, there is no way I am getting him to get up early so what should I look for in terms of mid day fishing? I'm figuring since there aren't many docks around I should be fishing deep to get into some better fish, or are the largemouth still holding in the grass in the creek arms?

you will have better luck going after perch that time of day.
fishing is S L O W after 11am. Get 20 bass early or go for the perch:flowered: or trout and that is slow too after early morning. The bass are moving out deeper. If you get a late start look for shade and fish in the shade.

Its a 16'6 alumaweld sea dory, Flat bottom sled.

My step dad got it years ago for salmon and steelhead, but I put on the PD minn kota to turn it into a bass machine. :D Luckily I have the ability to pretty much use it whenever I want, so hopefully the bass keep flying in... preferably in larger quantities and size

Alumaweld Sea Dory ahhhh. The gunwhales, center console and sharp bow had me thinking Super-vee.
Still a fine looking machine. My buddy is trying to talk me into selling both my boats and buying his 19' Super-Vee......tempting, very tempting.
But something about selling 2 to buy 1 just doesn't seem right.

Hope to see more pics of you and the Dory.

Looks like the water levels are still up from the pics. I haven't been out yet this year but I want to go before they let the water go. Bank fishing for me.
