Well we went out and it fished about as well as last time I was out. Most spots produced a fish or two, but nothing big. We had a hunch late in the day and made a run. It paid off for us big time. We found a spot that had a ton of fish, and some good ones mixed in. I will try to post some pictures! We took one fish that was close to 3lbs and some other very solid fish for this time of year. We had a blast, and I can't wait to get out again.
Here is a comparison picture between what I think is a male vs female. It is amazing the different coloring of the fish. Neither of these fish had been in the livewell long. Top one was a good fish.

I have not had much of a chance to fish this year, but I am going to be on the lower willy between Oregon City and Milwaukie. We will be fishing from about 3-dark. If you see a 18ft Tracker Pro Team with a 90hp Merc, make sure you wave. There will be 3 of us. I hope we can avoid the pleasure boaters and catch a few fish. See you out there.

The top one beats anything for us this year in the Willy.
Wife caught one pretty close in size by some concrete pilings near old OC bridge.

Thanks Ryan! We had a great time. Anytime I can get on the water lately is a good time. Hope to see you out there some time.

Ryan, my latest big fish were off reaction baits thrown on points. One crank & one spinnerbait.
I think the craw bite is off and the minnow bite on. I noticed this change last year, sliver flashy spinner baits got whacked...and they were usually good fish too.
I also think we need to switch to main river rock piles. Jade's report showed that the fish have gone deeper now that the flow has fallen.
So my focus this weekend will be tubes/craws/hogs/lizards down deep on main river piles and spinner baits & minnow baits on the points.
I know the moon & solunar tables aren't going to be on our side this weekend, but I still gotta hit it. Peak feed time doesn't coinside w/ sunrise at all...not even close. Thier going to be feed all night long.
Might be a good night to go trolling for walleye though. Never done it though.
Probably should just stay home and do yard work. Fish is going to suck anyway......but that would be just sinfull.

I think you are spot on Mike, thanks....
This last weekend I took my buddy out to get into his first topwater bass ever (and my first of the year).... we were able to catch some decent fish up top, but when that died we moved deep. We ended up catching a decent number of fish, but nothing over 1.5lbs probably.
And you better not consider staying home to do yardwork instead of fish.....
And yeah Chet, we need to meet up out there sometime soon.... let me know when get another chance to get out, I have some vacation time I need to burn up. We can meet out on the water somewhere....
