Stayed at my Father-in-law's house on the Brownlee from July 2nd to the 7th for my in-law's family get together. Woke up on the 3rd to find these views...

Crappie Cove (as I call it) is part of the property

If you are familiar with Brownlee, you can't miss the house. It's just north of Morgan Creek, has two tall trees, and this over the driveway:

This get together was more about watersports than bass fishing, but we caught a ton of crappies and managed a few smallies off the point at the house. My son ended up with the biggest right at 3 lbs. We also dispatched two rattlers trying to roam around the house... :)

Very fine photos, your in-laws must live close to the big city of Jack Gorden Incorpated. A very good fishing area.

For a dry, hot place, we love it. We try to go as much as possible. Those pictures pretty much represent the reservoir at its finest.

Thanks,

I have fished a lot off that point. Have not done much good there the past two years. Did you guys catch any decent crappie.

The previous two years there were boats setting there fishing all day and all night. Kept everything, everything. Had four fish baskets

They were of a southeast ethnicity........................

Quit fishing over there until I hear it has improved..

Thats the area where we Fish, & Camp, Love that area, was dissapointed about the size of the Crappie this year, but didn't see any commercial fishermen/women this year either, so maybe all those little fish will have a chance to be big fish next year. Nice pics thanks for sharing.

The crappie fishing was every cast except when the wind was blowing hard. They were small though with only a few bigger ones. We didn't have any boats trying to camp out there all day long this year. Maybe because of the jetski's and all the clay pigeon blasting... :D:D:D

Good for you. If that does not work try the stereo blasting.

OMG! Man you made me homesick. I can find that spot in the dark! I post phoned my June trip due to small crappie and fuel but I know for sure I will be going in mid-September just to cure my itch. What's truly amazing is how green the hills still are, what a strange year.
I am making my reservations for the Halfway Motel this week!

A few pics from our last trip. These were taken near my #1 cove on the Snake about 2 miles upriver from the mouth of the Brownlee

This one goes back for another year!
