Hello All,
Josiah Darr here reporting from Katmai Lodge, AK.
I've been sitting here reading my Bible and God put something on my heart that I thought he wanted me to share.
I was reading Romans 12 where it talks about being living sacrifices. It mentions that god gives us all gifts and they are all different depending on who you are. I want to encourage everyone to ask God to help you realize your gift or use your gift if you already have an idea of what it is. If you don't know what your is like encouragement, serving, teaching, leadership or giving, thing about for a second. Whatever the first thing that came in your mind when you thought about it might be a good place to start. I've felt a lot of God's workings in my life lately through my parents and my job, and I realized that there are a lot of situations in my everyday life where I have had an oppertunity to use something God has given me. Sometimes I have but I haven't more times than I care to admit. I want to encourage everyone to not only see the chances God gives you to serve him by displaying his love, but act on them. Go a little out of your comfort zone for God and have faith that if you act in a way that glorifies Him, you'll be blessed beyond anything we can imagine.
On another note,
If you have a hard time digging into the Word or can never find the time, make the time. I know, easier said then done. In my life I have always had a problem with drinking a little too often and I know at 23 years old this could be a problem that becomes a bigger problem later. I have taken a huge step away from drinking lately and instead filled my boring evenings with reading his Word. It has been the best decision I've ever made. Things I read at night become so applicable throughout the next few days and by diving into his word I can finally make decisions based on His plan instead of my own. If we sacrifice things to him and chase after Him, he will fill our lives with things more rewarding and more fulfilling that anything we gave up.
I'm not sorry for my little rant. On the contrary, I pray that God puts this on some ones heart and it encourages someone, somewhere, to chase God a little harder than they have in the past.
Pray without ceasing,
Josiah
