First time out with the new toon on lake "X" got the hang of it but it took me a couple hours before I figured out the bass. I did end up with 19 bass.

Dropped the toon in the Tualitin River near Hillsboro. The water was moving at a good clip and with all the wood in that River I packed it in till the river slows a bit more. no fish today.

Hagg Lake is down 4-6 feet. Water is a little off color and that is not a bad thing. I ended up with 37 bass mostly smallies. I got 6 bass over two pounds and none bigger than 3 pounds. I did find a pattern. Found lots of perch and some crappie and blue gills. So if you would like to get the kids into some fish PM me for pattern and location. I am finding lots of perch now and the bass are not far away from there food. First time I fished Hagg lake on the weekend in two years and it will be the last time for this year.
It was a little windy but that was not a bad thing, That was part of the pattern I found. I also found a few in deeper grass but most of the bass I got were not on the grass.

On a side note the park rangers are supper nice. I got a parking ticket two weeks ago, My year pass fell off my window and they saw in on my seat. I stopped by the booth and they fixed the ticket:flowered:. Good thing because it was $72. Now I do not have to go to court to fight it. the gal in the booth and the other park rangers have always been very nice:applause:.
Just to let you know the gates do not open till about 5:15am

Hey Roger. I know of a lake that would be a challenge for you. Lake Sacajawea in the middle of Longview is supposed to have some huge bass in it. You can't use a motor so the toon would be perfect. Structure is lily pads and bridge pilings.
I talked to a man a few years back who told me that he regularly caught wall hangers out of there. They stock it heavily with trout every year.

A couple of years ago a tree fell down in the lake and stayed there for a while before they took it out. I walked down to the edge and cast a buzz bait over it and caught a 5 lber the first cast. That was the only one I could entice that day. The next day they removed the tree.

On second thought, it would be a hard lake to fish. Probably wouldn't work out for you, what with the drive distance and all. I'll post report when I go. Bill
