Yesterday was just one of those days... everything I did or touched went backwards - a 15 minute project becomes an hour becomes two....:passout: I finished the last job of the day, and was as frustrated as can be. I decide to walk down to the pond by my house (yes, I'm very spoiled - I acutally have three ponds with fish!:D).
The pond is relatively small, but has a good population of bass and bluegill, and can be loads of fun. Since I'm in a pitty party mood, I'm walking thinking I'll probably have the biggest backlash in history. Get to the pond, and the day continues. My son had a spinnerbait on the rod, so I decide to give it a try. First cast - ooops too high, over a limb - wind it up slow, and jerk - it comes back - maybe this day isn't so bad after all. Second cast, over the same blasted limb, but this one loops - it's lost:passout:. So much for the day getting better.
I tie on a root beer rubber worm, and give it a ride... Wham, a hit, but I miss it. Then another, and miss again. Now I'm getting frustrated. Settle down, pay attention, concentrate - another hit, and get this one!!! The bass were absolutely hammering that poor worm. I actually had one jump out of the water and over a couple feet to where my cast landed in order to nail the worm.
My previous best for the house pond was four fish in an evening. Last night, I got eight!!!:meme:. They ranged from a small of 6 inches up to the top three at about 14". It turned out to be a great evening for me- the rubber worm on the other hand, is destroyed.
