Everytime I pass over the tualatin river I look down and see nothing but good structure and slow moving current but I never hear about anybody fishing it or see any fishing boats on it.

It looks like great bass water to me........ is there a reason why people don't fish it....??

is it to shallow to get a boat in there??....... I have a driftboat that I was thinking about launching and drifting from one boat ramp to the other but I don't know if it will be a waste of time or not.

Fish it. :thisbig:

There's a lot of "sewerage" prejudice about the Tualatin. T'ain't so.

It's a great river for exercise (paddling and rowing,) wildlife (herons, kingfishers, frogs, beavers,) and fishing (mostly largemouth in my experience, though big channel catfish, big native cutthroats, coho salmon, and steelhead all make appearances.)

The biggest largemouth I've landed was 3-plus pounds. The biggest I've released (with my hand on his jaw) was, perhaps, seven or eight pounds.) And every one that I've cleaned has been full of nothing but crawfish -- usually a sign of good water quality.

The biggest golf balls my kids have landed have been, well, all about the same size.

It's a great resource. Some trailer boat launches. Many more canoe launches. Have fun with it -- and maybe a few filets.

Although I have taken some nice fish there not sure I would want to eat them; but great place close by to do some exploring for sure!
