Well, 1BigFish and I made it out Sunday morning around 6 AM. It was a great morning to go out, air temp was 70 degrees and it felt good running down the river, water temp I am not sure about. It wasn't a bad day of fishing either, lol. We caught about 20 fish but it was spotty, 5 fish were over 2lbs. Dave had the biggest fish at 2.12lbs, the other fish were 2.1, 2.1, 2.3, 2.6. The best fighting fish went to Dave too. He hooked into this bass and it went running like a freight train, it didn't want to come back and play with us, or maybe he was. I would have swore that fish was going to be bigger than 3 lbs because it peeled off about 30 yards of line. Still it was a good day and we were off the water by 11 AM. All the fish were caught on drop shot or shakey head. Some on pumkin seed green and others on a smoke colored robo worm. Tried some cranks, but there was too much weeds running throw the water.

A couple of nice hawgs. Good fish too! Seriously, those 4 fish look to me to be around 3, at least. Sure your scale is right? Or maybe it's an optical delusion.

I have had quite a few people say my scale is off but I have used a 1lb bag of flour to test the scale before and it seemed acturate. I wanted to test my scale against a few others this year but so far have just not done it yet. I have been using the scale for so long now that even guessing the weight is based what I know MY scale will say it weighs.
Personally I think my scale is accurate.(but maybe not everybodys scale is accurate:wink:)

The drag was set for a 2lb smallie. Someone just forgot to tell this fish he was only 2lbs. Thankfully I got him turned just before he hit the current. After landing the fish I did check the drag and it was set right but then I noticed the line as I went to retie. The 8lb line was streched so bad and so deep into the spool that I ended up having to just switch to another rod. I will have to replace the line before I go out again. I have never seen P-line CX get streched that bad before. Clayton said that if that little guy was running that hard it must of had one heck of a big fish chasing it.:thisbig::D
Hand down that was the best fighting fish I have have had in at last 3 years and that includes salmon.:excited::excited::excited::excited:
One other thing of note on this trip. Dan hooked a fish and it broke him off right at the boat. We sat there and :argue: about how big it was. Well I casted out and hooked another fish and after landing it I handed Dan back his lure. I guess Dan was right, it was a 2lb fish.:D
We actually got 22 fish total. Dan had 15 while I only had 7.
But I did manage the big fish for the day.

Plasitcs.
Dan mostly stayed with a shakeyheaded roboworm and I mostly stuck to a drophot 3in senko.
