I have a thunderjet 2004 with a 350 and an american pump. I can not get the boat to plane. The motor runs smooth, but just sounds like it's not getting fuel. It will come up to about 2600 rpm and just stop. I changed the water filter, and replaced the plugs with no change. The motor is injected.

Your timing is not advancing I believe or is terribly retarded ...
It could also be the filter screen in the fuel tank itself ...
Sometimes a old fuel line can collapse while running and restrict fuel also ...:twocents:
By the way Guys its tradition for your 1st post to be a fish story on ifish community ...

Or a filter on the engine besides the W/F filter.

I had similar issues a while back. I changed out distributor cap, rotor and plug wires as well. Good luck

It runs smooth, and comes to about a half plane and that's it. Checked the jet from the bottom, and rear and down thru the inspection cover, and all is clean.

Sounds like a major tuneup is in order ... Might check the coil wires for corroded connections also...
How old is the distributor ???
This could also be attributed to faulty injectors and low fuel pressure ... Time for a little T.L.C.

Sounds like a power problem, ya. I would add one more engine. Problem solved!. If that doesn't help try checking to see if you're getting full throttle?.:twocents:

some times they forget to take the three pin conecter out of the distributer its for checking the timing it will have one wire coming out and back in should be black and see if your getting full throttle it could be the fuelpump but if it aint popin it dont sound like it you can email me @ TADDMARQUIS@YAHOO.COM IF YOU WANT
