Was up on Sunday. It was slow as could be for us. We were targeting trout and didn't hook much of anything. My friend in the pontoon with his fly rod caught a bunch of stockers and a couple of nice fish. The fish were in shallow...I mean right up against the shore. I was fishing with my 5 and 7 year olds so it wasn't a dawn patrol kind of day.
Most folks I talked to had either been shut out or had hooked a couple. Can't say how folks did down by the resort as we were fishing the other side of the lake. The weather has been warmer and it's going to get hot this weekend so the fishing might improved.
Good luck!

Welcome to i-fish paulinalakekid! Thanks for your report, i'll be up there Saturday, will let ya know how we did.
6 of us just got back from 3 days of fishing at Paulina. We stayed in a cabin but I know the first and last campground and ramps were open. Snow is almost all gone. Limits each day on Kokes. All 11"-13". Tuesday afternoon limits in 1 hour and fifteen minutes. Winddrifting and Jigging in 50-'80' water by the bird houses about 2/3 of the way from the lodge to the red slide. Most on Aufish 101's white 1/2 oz.casting jig. Fish weren't there the next morning but found them in 200'-220' down at the East end of lake straight off the campground boat ramp. Aufish 101's blaze orange(had him mimic the Nordic blaze orange color) 1/2 oz. casting jig was the hot ticket there. Limits in just short of 2 hours. This morning the fish were back heavy in day 1's spot but not near as often or agressive biting. White again was the color and took four hours to limit. All fish were caught between 12 and 22 reverse cranks on the reel depending on the reel. The majority of fish were caught between 35'-40' deep no matter how deep the water was. The people fishing up around the lodge were not doing very good. The store manager told us at the beginning of the first day before we went out that fishing had been lousy and when we were back in about 1 1/2 hours he was real suprised. Only a few boats on the lake. He must have put the word out cause we had company the next 2 days or maybe it was the weather. Weather was cold, windy, but dry on day one, cold but bluebird yesterday, and one of the most awesome weather days today ever- calm, warmer, and sunny all the way from there to home. That is about it, I don't do pictures but all of them were cookie cutter with 12" being average. Also the trollers were not doing as well but getting some but actually smaller yet.

I friend of mine was fishing Paulina for browns last Sunday with a couple of buddies. They did well in the morning with several fish in the 3-6 lb range and slower in the evening with a few 2-3 lb fish. They were flatlining minnow plugs. The state record holder, Ron, was fishing, too, and he stuck an 11+lb fish as well as several other nice ones. Paulina is performing better this year than the last few from what I can tell. I think it has kicked down 4 browns from 11-17lbs that I am aware of and it has only been open for under a month.
I have heard great reports on easy limits of kokes from several guys, too, with most of the fish running 14+ inches.
It is interesting to see the lakes cycle in and out of good fishing year to year. It looks like a good one for Paulina and East this year!
