I will be headed to Diamond lake next weekend for my first time. What is everyones favorite campground around the lake. I will be using a technique that has worked very well for me at Craine P and East lake. Trolling black and green wooly buggers on fast sinking fly line. The hits are fast and vicious, lotsof big trout caught this way for me.

I was there over the weekend, and there is only on campground open right now. The Diamond Lake campground is your only option. You hsould have any trouble catching fish. We caught 30 or so in the few hours that we fished. If your technique doesnt work, join all the other boats at the south end with powerbait or worms.

Thielsen View is not part of the reservation system. It is all first come first served. I'm not even sure that it is open, so you might want to give the Umpqua Ranger Station a call.

There was plenty of room in the campground. It was snowing half the time then around 65 or so the rest of the time. Seemed to keep people in the motel and cabins. You should have a pretty free reign of the campground.
