I have a week off starting on the 16th of this month. I had planned on spending four nights camping at a couple different lakes, but since these lakes are still snowbound, I need some help.

I've never fished any of these lakes I've mentioned. So, I'm looking for some help. I've done some research, but...

I fish out of a 12' boat with oars and electric motor. I prefer to troll kwikfish, flies, and still fish on an occasion. Good banking also works. It will be me and my eight year old daughter.

I was thinking maybe a night or two at Frog Lake, then maybe one night at Trillium, and then head over to Harriet for a night or two. I've ruled out Timothy because of its size. I don't really want just stockers, I would at least like a good shot at some decent sized fish.

Which of these lakes (or others in this area) fit my style of fishing the best?

Do these lakes offer any primitive campsites?
On Harriet and Clear Lake are the campsites(recreation.gov) close to good fishing? Or can I possibly throw the boat in somewhere along the lake?

Any other ideas?

What kind of time frame am I looking at from Trillium to Harriet via FS 57?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Anybody else going to be in this area from the 16th-20th?

I am not sure about snow because I have not been up there yet but I prefer Clear Lake and you can camp opposite side of the lake from the ramp. We always make day trips so I have never camped there. I have hunted around there also so I know there is a road on the back side and I have seen people camped there. It can get windy there and the water normally drops fast in summer but I think this year should be fine until last July. I am pretty sure Frog and Trillium are both motorless lakes. You would want to check but I think that includes electric. Timothy Lake is fine for a small boat as long as the wind doesn't pick up. I normally fish the shoreline there and there are little coves. You can also camp on the opposite shore line. Good luck and have fun.

Harriet has a few camping spots on one end of the lake. There is a place to launch a boat not far from the camping sites. It is a fairly narrow lake with a damn at one end. it is a nice lake for a small boat with an electric motor. The end near the camping sites is shallow with lots of tree stumps the are visible in the clear water.

It's about 30 minutes from the Hwy 26/35 fork to Timothy and another half to Harriet.

Clear Lake has primitive campsites and you can put a small boat in in multiple places and there are some bigger fish in there- and it will get windier than you can electric motor and row sometimes. Fish in the mornings there for hope of calmness.

Fishing at Frog Lake shouldn't take very long- it's very small.

Harriet may fit your "style" the best- although I haven't been to Trillium.

You can call the Forest Service to see if Trillium and Frog will be accessible due to snow by then.
