Went to Crescent today with Tom (rum runner) and Mark (Eagleclaw) It was 35 breezy and snowing when we got there. We decided to troll for macks 1st and hoped that the wind would lay down so we could target kokanee. Tom picked this guy up on the 1st pass.http://www.ifish.net/gallery/data/500/medium/IMG_03832.JPG (http://www.ifish.net/gallery/showphoto.php/photo/79265/size/big/cat//ppuser/8168)
If you're only going to catch 1 fish, make it a good one. We saw about 8-10 kokanee boats out there, never saw a net fly and they were all pretty much off the water by 10 AM. It got uncomfortably rough shortly after that. We got off by 11 and decided to see how nasty Odell was. Much to our surprise it was relatively flat. We launched at Shelter Cove and saw a few guys with bags of cleaned kokanee! A good sign.
We made a run for macks since we had that gear all ready to go and never turned a fish. The kokanee guys were slowly thinning out. Saw a few jigging by Trapper creek end and a few trolling. Weather conditions got steadily worse and we bailed by 3pm. Water was 44 at Crescent and 42 at Odell. Still need a few degrees warmer for good koke action.
I'll leave you with a parting shot of what a beautiful summer June day looked like at Odell at 2pm today.http://www.ifish.net/gallery/data/500/medium/IMG_03841.JPG (http://www.ifish.net/gallery/showphoto.php/photo/79266/size/big/cat//ppuser/8168)
Yes folks, thats snow not fog. By the way Princess Creek campground is open, Trapper Creek is not. The 1st campground at Crescent is open.

Had fun out there today even with the snowstorms.... Is it really June or did I just miss spring/summer a few weeks ago. If you ever get a chance to fish with Joe I highly recommend it.

Thanks for the report! WTG Tom. I think Joe will be looking for someone else to take mack fishing if you are going to keep catching all the big ones:D. How long was the mack?

I'm gonna have to let him catch some fish on my boat next week or I'll never get invited back.... the fish was 33 inches, we'll let you guess the weight....

Nice mac, brutal weather! We already had summer for this year. It was that weekend a few weeks ago when it got up into the 90s. Back to winter now! :stormwarning:

We averaged about 15 a day, but surprisingly I took no pics of the fish. They were mostly 10" or so, all of ours taken while trolling. Cap'n Bubba put on a clinic, out catching me at a 4 or 5 to 1 ratio...it was painful to endure!:passout:

BTW...That's a nice mack there, F.O.B.:D

Nice pics of the weather, we were there 6/6 to 6/9. On the Lake Fri. at 12:00 lots of bites but few in the boat. Running 2 downriggers at 40' and 2 lines with 2oz weight at70' to 80'. Came back out at 3:30 got into a good bite 24 fish, 10" average. Our best results were Pink hoochie/squid, yellow and orange kokanee candy. Best outing was Sunday evening 32 fish, for a total of 181 fish. P.S. new to this site and don't know how to start a new thread?
