My youngest is coming home from College on Friday the 13th. He will be home for a few days and then will return for summer school. I want to take him for a 3 day 2 night fishing/camping trip. We are from Vancouver, WA. Thinking of the Crooked below the dam. Another thought is we have 14’ kayaks as well as float tubes and could fish at a lake. Please give me your thoughts.

Merril or Goose Lake might be fun without spending a fortune on gas. Either can be done in a float tube.

Stay at Crane Prairie and take your pick from the upper Deschutes, Fall River, Davis, Hosmer, Crane Prairie etc.

:yeahthat:

you definitely need to check out hosmer if you've never been. Try really small baetis nymphs size 18-22 under a size 12-16 dry fly. Be patient, they will eat. Davis lake will be fishing decent as well and if you haven't had the chance to get some large mouth bass on a fly rod, you have to check it out. If I had two full days to fish; those two lakes is where I would go this time of year. bring your 8 wieght for davis lake because you need to cast back in the weeds.

enjoy!
