There have been a couple of threads about this in the past. Some favorites are the Daiwa spinmatic, lamiglas, and shimano. Try a search, here's one to get you started.

My dad's old fiberglass noodle rod, brand unknown - and a genuine really old solid indestructible Mitchell 300.
That rig has caught literally thousands and thousands of Oregon kokanee, when I break it I will cry.
I'd say something at least 6' long with the sloppiest action you can find. I'd like to build one from a flyrod blank some day.

The above post is a great resource, in a quick scan I did not see any suggestions of the Anglers Touch rods that Gary Miralles from Shasta Tackle sells. They seem to be a very nice rod built by a Kokenut for kokenuts.

Fished a lot of different kokanee rods including spendy gloomis and lamiglass rods but what the wife and I for 4 years now keep comeing back to is a rod called the Boswell special. Its made in China wich about made me gag when I first tried them. After lots of hours on the water I can still say they are the best I have had in my boat in my humble opinion. 220 dollars for a gloomis or 50 dollars for a boswell kokanee special rod. I keep trying to find something better but have not been able to. 559- 432 -7552 gets you in touch with him if anyone is interested. Just another thing to try!

I have been fishing with the Shasta's Main Line Casting rod (inner flow)from the the last few years. At first I was not sure it was the best rod for kokanee fishing but after my last few trips I fell in love. I orderd a few more last week and they just arrived. I now have five of them and I can't wait to put them in the water. The reels I use are the Quantum 1420 classic.
Good luck ET

Favorite Kokanee Trolling Rod I use with a Downrigger is a Daiwa Spinmatic-X Casting Rod Model No: SM-X 762ULFB, 7 foot 6 inches long, 2 piece, Ultra Light, 1/32 - 1/4 oz. lures, 2-6 lb. line, 8 Guides plus Tip, High Performance Graphite, Made in China. I bought it at G.I.Joes in May 2006 for $22 each after reading about it on iFish discussion in 2005 or 2006.
And mount a Abu Garcia Ambassadeur Six Star Reel with line out alarm, line capacity is 245 yds/14 lbs. (but I run 6-8 lb. line), gear ratio is 5.3 to 1. Weighs 10.3 oz. for about $35 used no box on an internet bay auction site.

The ugly stik ultralights mentioned above have been on sale at both Joes and Fisherman's in the past week or two. I have a tough time putting much cash into a trolling rod for any species. Fiberglas works fine as long as it's close to a noodle action. The ugly stiks are graphite but for kokes, trolling, there's no need at all for any degree of sensitivity.
If you want a spinning rod, there is a great super noodle made by Eagle Claw. It's bright yellow and runs under $20 at Fisherman's. I have one and if I'm fishing solo that's what I use. I haven't seen that spinmatic but that sounds about right too. You just need a very limber rod. If you buy cheap you can buy more of them and leave them rigged with different setups. Saves time if you break off your gear or want to try something different. I'd rather have 3 cheapo noodle rods in the boat ready to fish than one premium rod.

I fish with a bunch I like: A couple of 4wt 'glass flyrod blanks one wrapped for center pin reels (any flyfishing reel with a good drag), one spiral wrapped for casting reels. Vances 7'6 spiral wrapped kokanee rod. Couple of Diawa Spinmatics, quickly rising on my list. And my favorite so far, an Ordella 7'6 which is no longer made, BUT Baston Ent. still makes the blank -- they call it the Rainshadow light downrigger blank or something like that, but if you ask for their kokanee rod blank, that should get you to the right one. Graphite with a fiberglass tip seems to capture the best of both worlds -- super shock absorption but plenty of backbone for handling bigger fish and for hiking them over the gunwale. Reels... are getting better and better. Hard to find a small baitcaster I don't like. Daiwa Procasters are probably what I reach for first from my gear. Anything with a smooth drag and good range on the light end. Great post here a few month ago on drag mods for ABU reels -- if I had the time it looks like ABU could become my favorite reel. http://www.ifish.net/board/showthread.php?t=194087&highlight=abu+drag+mod

Hands down my favorite is my 4 piece 7' Wright & McGill fiberglass rod; it was purchased by a family member in the 60's, never used until I opened it's aluminum tube 3 years ago and put a light shimano on board...simply a killer rod for backpacking, and the best for kokes.
However, I took advantage of the sale at Joe's for the 7' Uglystick; it's actually a graphite and fiberglass hybrid (fiberglass tip) and on sale for $35 -- it's the only rod under $100 I've found with a similar action to my McGill rod, and will be a nice guest koke troller for the boat.

An old frien of mine, Frank Porter, who has since passed, used to go to Lamiglass and buy all the broken and seconds. He would come home with large boxes full of parts and pieces. He built me a two piece 6'3" light action trout rod rated 6-10. It is my favorite koke rod and will always be treasured. RIP Frank

I've got two setups that I like when trolling for kokanee
Number 1: Abu Garcia 4600C3 with clicker on a Fisherman's Friend 7' downrigger rod.
Number 2: Abu Garcia 4600C3 with clicker on a Seeker 7' Kokanee downrigger rod.
