Didnt they used to plow goose out for the holiday weekend? I havent fished the lake for about the last 5 years, I tryed to bring the kids up there last weekend and its a no go.

I dont remember them ever plowing it out, but usualy the kids with Toyotas would have the road beat down by the first part of May.
Right now you cant hardly get to the lava tubes.

Looks like they planned to stock it last mounth, evedently that didnt happen. For some reason I have the bug to bring the kids there this year.

The road usually opens up from Trout lake first . Check the nation forest website . It has a link to road openings .

Last weekend going in from Trout lake you couldnt get off the pavement (Peterson Prairie). It probably hasnt changed much. There was 4 feet or more snow on the roads in the shadded areas. We were loaded for bear and had time and beer to burn and we didnt even make an attempt. It was that bad!!
