I've been kind of wondering why the Olallie Lake website hasn't been updated since last year. I knew the contract of the store, cabins, camp sites and such is (or had been) for sale and that the holders went through a divorce.
I called the number this morning and it has been disconnected. I then called the Clackamas Ranger Station. I was told that the USFS was in the process of suspending the contract and that the store and cabins will not be operational this year. She did say that the campgrounds around Olallie will be operational this year though. I only asked about Camp Ten and Horseshoe Lake, so I'm not sure if she was including Paul Dennis and Peninsula or not.
No idea on when it will be open due to the snowpack. Not even close at this point is what I was told. On heavy snowpack years it would be usually open mid to late June at the earliest. That was with the help of the contact owner plowing their way in to get the resort operational. There will be no plowing this year, and I wouldn't expect it to be open before the last week of June at the earliest.
If you head up that way plan for nothing extra like ice and water to be available.
