Just curious if anyone has fished this lake much? I've heard that there's land locked coho, chinook, and kokanee there but I have never seen any posts about this lake.

Use to fish it years ago with friends when i lived in Springfield. We use to catch Kokanee up by the dam by trolling with a rubber raft and fenders. Lowtech back then but we caught fish.

We fished Lookout this past weekend. Water was still around 50 degrees and we couldn't buy a bite of anything. We trolled, jigged and bait fished near the dam. There were a lot of fish hanging right on the bottom in 100' to 200' of water. Must have been too cold for them. Tried about everything in the tackle box. Spinners, hoochies, apex, jigs of all kinds, worms, corn. Even went to the infamous power bait (which I normally shy away from) in an effort to get bit. Nothing, nada, zippo!
It's such a large reservoir and close to Eugene/Springfield, where I live. Need to figure out how to get them to bite. Sure beats driving up to the mountain lakes with the price of gas.
Anyone else out there have any suggestions on what to use?
Just call me stumped..........

Not sure what size they run these days. I hadn't fished Lookout for over 10 years til we got a wild hair to try it last weekend. Every fish we saw were on the very bottom. If my new Humminbird is working right (and I think it is) there were some pretty good sized fish down there. Those could have been landlocked chinook or coho, though, and not kokes. I plan to go back and try again once we get into some warmer weather and the water has a chance to warm up a bit.:thisbig:
