Hey y'all, I'm down in Jackson, WY and got to talking with a buddy about going after sturgeon on the fly. If anyone's got any info or ideas as to just how to pull it off, I'd love to hear.

Do a search, there's been some discussions about this here in the past, but it's been a couple years. From what I've heard about sturgeon being caught occasionaly on unscented salmon/steelhead lures, - I'm pretty sure they will feed by sight at times. If you can find them in fairly clear, shallow water, I would dead drift the biggest bunny leech you can throw. Sturgeon are definitely touch sensitive with bait so I think a bunny leech would have the best "feel" to it, besides having natural movement and large profile to get their attention. If I were to give it a shot I'd try the lower Columbia estuary. Lots of fish in shallow water with a sand bottom (plenty of big starry flounder too!). You have sturgeon in Wyoming?!!!

Let us know how you do!
