Just lookin for new idea's. After I get back from Florida I will be in the Bay area for some urban dining, drinkin and dinkin around the last week of June and large part of July. Be down there for 2 or 3 weeks past the 4th.
I am fishing American stripers the 25,26,&27th. I will have my driftboat with me and be located more north most of the time near Napa and Calistoga, only spending a few nights downtown and hopefully gettin out alive, LOL. I am sure I will float the Yuba one day and do the lower Sac nymph game one day. Just lookin for anybody's else's idea's on fishin the north part of Ca that time of year.:D:D thanks all
Davy,
The Lower Sac should be fishing well. If you PM me when you get some dates for the L. Sac and the Yuba I will get you a report. Just for your info the L. Sac from the Posse Grounds to Bonneveiw is closed, that is technically not correct you can fish that stretch river you just can't drift it. The work on the Crypress Street Bridge has made the drift unsafe. If you timing is right you might want to think about the Hex hatch on Fall River, that is a long drive from where you are staying but may be worth it. I kind of made an assumption you wanted to fish from your drift boat in moving water. If that is not the case let me know by PM and I will add some stillwater locations. Most are far north so also give a distance you want or don't want to travel.

The Yuba fishes pretty well this time of year...you can put in at the Hwy 20 bridge and there's really easy water to row...not a lot of people outside of the area fish it because they're all headed to the Sac or up into the Sierra Nevadas...the Yuba has some really sporty bows to 20" and steelhead and salmon too....

It might be a little beyond your range, but I really enjoyed fishing Manzanita Lake on the edge of the Mt.Lassen park. Nice fish selective to callibaetis spinners & duns.
Then a bit NE of there is Eagle Lake that used to be a really famous fishery.....(did they recently poison it to eliminate pike????)

You've got tons of options...in addition to what's already been mentioned, you have Hat Creek, Pit River, McCloud River, Fall River (If you know someone with a boat), Upper Sac...
just read your entire post...it appears that you have a boat and someone already mentioned the Fall...

Gary,
It Davis Lake that was treated for pike last Fall, it has been replanted and reports are that is is starting to fish. It was Manzanita Lake that I was thinking about when I mentioned stillwater options.
