So i have not fished largemouth in a long time well about 8 years after moving from Cali I got hooked bad on steelhead salmon and trout. Well I was fishing Saturday at a private lake that has some large bass and we noticed a fish sitting on top of a log but all we had was trout stuff and some flies I could not get the fish to take a fly.
So my son and I went back Sunday I had dug all my old bass stuff out and the bass was still sitting on top of the stump when we got there sunday afternoon. I tied on a smoke color tube with red fleck and tossed it aout next to the log. The fish on top swam off and I moved the tube around on the bottom and all of a sudden the long for very heavy I set the hook hard and the fight was on. I landed my first largemouth in about five years it was promptly released after showing it to my son who has never seen a largemouth and he thought it was funny that is 10 year old hand could fit into the fishes mouth! lol. So now I have to go back out there. rp
