Was down there last week. Saw quite a few bedded fish. Who had the tourney on Saturday?

I didn't get a chance to fish. Was busy with other tasks. I wish I had time to go to the weigh-in. Anyone know who was having the tourney?

I drive by Tackenich at least 2 times a week and mostly find the ramps empty but sometimes there are one or two cars. I live in Florence and am told that Tachenich is better than Siltcoos. I am new to Bass fishing and would have gone to the weigh-in had I known. I often wonder why more don't fish there.

For those interested, There is a Tournament at Siltcoos this weekend with the weigh-in at Ada Resort which is on the backside of the lake. The weigh-in times will be at noon and 5pm Saturday and at 11am Sunday. It is sponsored by local Lions Club. Cost is $60 per team.

Bassinator,
I love Takenitch, but it's a tough Lk by way of fish'n.
But the camping is top notch and the family likes it.

I've done better on Siltcoos...never been down to 10 Mile yet.
Lots of perch though. Great kids lake....always perch action.

I have fished tahk several times. I like the type of structure and cover in tahk better than silt. I have better luck getting out of the wind on tahk. Also the fish ive caught have been nicer also. But silt is very good also. My buddy would say silt is better. But bottom line, they both have excellent bass opportunities. Some days its great fishing the next you would swear there isnt a fish in either one. if you havnt fished tahk. grab your green pumpkin brush hoggs find a small cove with lillies and enjoy.

I've never done that well on the pads. For me it's a crank on the downed timber.
But I have some new Buzz Frogs to try on those pads now. FISH ON!

Next to Tenmile, Tahkenitch is my favorite lake on the coast. I tused to be Siltcoos, but I find it to be increasingly tougher every year!

I fished Tahkenitch Friday before last and found the lake very strange. Water temp was 68-70 but the water color back in some of the coves and srms was a very strange redish color and smelled funny. You would find pockets of the stuff also. Fishing was extremely tough for use as we couldn't find fish anywhere. About 2:00PM my Buddy caught this 6# 14oz pig and it was the only fish we touched!

I caught my biggest bass with Jerry and his son Craig on Tachenich back when we were in high school. Little over 6lbs on a worm. Next time you see Jerry tell him Dave Mclaren said hello. Thanks.
