Hagg is really staring to heat up in a bass fishing way! I was fishing from shore today and I landed 16 fish. The biggest was around 2 pounds but Big bass are soon coming! The small mouth were shallow early and move deeper as the day light moved in. Points produced good. I did not try back in the arms.

Great report Roger.

I was just there in the afternoon on Sunday. Didn't catch a single thing. Only bites I got were from mosquitos. I have no clue where to bank fish on that lake.

This is the spot (http://maps.google.com/?ie=UTF8&ll=45.48559,-123.2314&spn=0.003325,0.007296&t=h&z=17) I was fishing. Moved a long that bank but no luck.

The only interesting that happened is that my buddy fell into the water along that bank. He was walking out on the bank to look down at other spots and didn't notice that the ground was wet. He slipped into the water, luckily I caught his rods and his tacklebox floats. The only thing hurt was probably his pride.

We fished from around 0630 till 1600 and only got one largemouth around 2lbs and a smallie around 1lb, the rest were all dinks. I had a few that were barely bigger than my lure.
For a lake that kicks out state records there sure are lots and lots of small fish.
All the fish we get on the Columbia are much larger and in better numbers for sure.

Teamdoyle, water was pretty clear by my standards, though today was the firsyt time I have fished Hagg since I was a kid.

The water is as clear as normal. I would say 3 feet or more visibility.
Just to let every one know the state must have stocked a ton of fingerlings in Hagg they are all over the shallows so a minow imitation should work good. That will move the bass shallow. I tryed top water but did not have any luck but some day soon the bas will go nuts on topwater with all that bait jumping around. I did see some schools of bass freeding on the trout fish sticks:D. The fishing should be good shallow for a week or two. A note to all the morning bite is on! so if you fish this lake from now till fall you would be advised to go early! The last two trips my best fish came before sun rise! That is not to say that big fish will the bite mid day, but the bite better early.
Thanks
Roger
