OMG!

That is sad beyond words.

To be taken in the absolute prime of his life... WOW... That's just too much to bear.

Based on the upbeat posts he shared here, I've always thought, "Now there's a dude I'd like to fish with someday."

So much for someday..... :(

I agree with Shane, gonna go home to hug my kid(s). I really need to make more of an effort to call them more often. Life is already too short as it is without a tragedy like this bringing it to an even more premature ending.

When I met Mike last year at our tri-cities IFish get together his outgoing, joking personality stuck out among the crowd. It's to bad I never got to fish with him, but the many times we fished right next to each other was always fun!

I never actually went up and talked to this fine gentlemen, but the countless times his friendly smile flashed, or he waved as we trolled by each other at drano just told me that this was a good man. People just are not friendly at drano but this fine fisherman was the exception. To all his true friends out there. I am sure you are all better men and women for knowing him. I do not know him but it's always a sad day when a fellow fisherman and outdoorsman passes on. I've had alot of my family pass on and there is a prayer I'd like to share with all of you that I read often when I thing of my loved one. Here it is:

DO NOT STAND AT MY GRAVE AND WEEP
I AM NOT THERE, I DO NOT SLEEP.
I AM A THOUSAND WINDS THAT BLOW;
I AM THE DIAMOND GLINTS ON SNOW.
I AM THE SUNLIGHT ON RIPENED GRAIN
I AM THE GENTLE AUTUMN'S RAIN.
WHEN YOU AWAKEN IN THE MORNINGS HUSH,
I AM THE SWIFT UPLIFTING RUSH
OF QUIET BIRDS IN CIRCLED FLIGHT.
I AM THE SOFT STAR THAT SHINES AT NIGHT.
DO NOT STAND AT MY GRAVE AND CRY
I AM NOT THERE; I DID NOT DIE!
- AUTHOR UNKNOWN

ALSO - GRIEF IS NOT RESOLVED BY FORGETTING,
BUT RATHER BY REMEMBERING WITH LESS PAIN!

I'm shocked, how tragic. Mike was a friendly face at Drano and was a great presence on iFish. I'm just stunned. He will be sorely missed by many.

Always good posts, funny, informative, never negative. A few PM's and some sightings on the river, never a personal conversation. A really nice guy from what I knew, sad.

My thoughts are with his loved ones. I always respected his posts here, and the advice he had for our community. Rest in Peace.

He was the persona of NW angling at it's finest. He had that rare wonderfully infectious up-beat personality; it came through the few times I met him face-to-face, and of course it came shining through here at ifish. You will be missed...

I am very sad for Mike, his family and friends. A very tragic loss of someone so young and full of life. They will all be in my prayers.

"I pray that I may live to fish until my dying days.
And when it comes to my last cast, I then most humbly pray.
When in the Lord's great landing net, and peacefully asleep,
That in His mercy I be judge BIG ENOUGH to keep!"

Found on I-fish a few years back

He was truely BIG ENOUGH TO KEEP.

Thoughts and prayers to the family.

Oh dang it. Just got home and saw this. Really breaks my heart. We lost one of the good guys in a world that is in short supply of people that are looking out for others. Mike was a real difference maker and I'll bet he would be proud to see how he touched the lives of people on ifish.

My thoughts and prayers for his family in their darkest hour. Does anyone know if a fund has been set up to help out his family?
