ok so I love fishing hoppers in the summer time but i have not found one that I am good at tying so anyone got a simple hopper that is pretty east to tie?

Take a Clarks Stonefly, add some red feather fibres as a short tail and you have a pretty good hopper pattern for everything but super flat water spring creeks. Good Metolius summertime pattern.
That crazy chernobyl pattern is tougher to tie but over a weekend I really ran up the score using it on Donner-und-Blitzen redbands .

Tie in a rectangular piece of yellow foam to a hook sew in some rubber legs, take a dark green marker to the top and a light green to the sides, and paint some black eyes on it.
Here is one I tie up however there are a few more steps involved that you can skimp on to make it easier...

Those Chernobyl Ants are great. The ones I use have brown hackle under the first layer of foam though. I still have one from last fall on the Klamath that is torn up pretty well.
