Hello there, im new to the Ifish community.

I love to fish for carp and was wanting to know if anyone has been catching any carp lately. Ive been catching lots of them at blue lake (7-10lbs) but I want to try out some new places around Gresham/Portland.

Thanks!

Canned Sweet Corn is the ultimate carp bait. Went out 10 times in a row the past month and havent left without atleast 2 carp and I fish for 3-5 hours each session. Bread is also a good bait I have caught a few carp on dough balls (bread).

Hope that helped!

Right there between Blue lake and Chinook landing ramp , there is a small slough that should have carp right now(down river from ramp). Before they built the boat ramp we used to bowfish them. Our best day was 150 between 2 guys. Not sure how the high and cold water this year will affect them. They are usually there from April until early June. We used them for crab bait but, shad worked better so I don't bowfish them anymore.
If the carp are in the slough, you should be able to stand up on the high bank and spot them first to make sure they are there.
