the wife and I headed to Rooster Rock this AM to see what we could find there. Couldn't believe how high the water was... Fished off two of the 3 docks, the boat launch, and a bit off the point that runs along the inlet canal. Didn't feel like wading to get further out the point...

Only had a single hit on the day, and it was on my wifes line, just a few feet from shore on the first dock. Jigged a 2" spintail to pick up a good sized SM... Tried the same lure for another hour with nothing... then continued to throw everything at them and got nothing.

Rooster rock can be a great place on th river for largmouth when they start to spawn. there can be some monsters caught out of there. A few years ago my dad and i went back there and we each caught two 6 pound large mouth. It was a blast because we have never caught a single fish back there before.

nice! had wished for even a raft to try that lil floating dock there. It was packed with boats in the AM, but when we went back in the PM it was empty. My cast only got me about 8 feet short...

For reference, the tree in the background over your shoulder is surrounded by water....
