It's a slow Sunday afternoon and I'd rather not take the boat out to the Columbia. Rather, what I'd really like to do is try my hand at catching my first ever Bass in a pond or stream or something near my house in Troutdale. Does anyone know of such a place that I may get lucky?
I know Mt Hood Pond has trout stock, but it seems like that's about it in that pond.
I've heard Blue Lake has some largemouth, but I don't have a clue how or where I'd catch one.
Hoping to head out today, so any info is great.
Thanks!
Kurt

Both Bluelake and Fairview lake hold bass. If you want to drive a bit further then you can try Benson lake.

What lures/baits would you suggest for Blue or Fairview Lake?

Can people even fish Fairview? I thought it was off limits to the public.
East Salish pond has some Bass in it.

There is bank access at Fairview Lake, I've heard of people launching small boats into it to fish for bass.
I wouldn't bother with Salish pond, that pond gets so much pressure, I haven't seen a bass in there for a long time.

I live in Gresham and go to blue lake everyday to fish for carp and I never see anyone fish for bass , mainly just trout but I have read that there have been huge bass caught in blue lake 8-13lb range.

I am new to the area and have been looking for a place to fish for bass in the summer. I live close to Blue Lake and have a lot of experience catching Mr. Green. Can a person float tube there? If so, and you're interested, let me know and we can give it a try.
