OH! OH! OH! How I love the ants. My best days on the Lavas have been with ants. I guess I will miss them as I assume those lakes are not available. When oh when will I get to make my first CO lake trip?

They are all over the north/central coast too. I killed a dozen or so in my house today(Newport), and two days ago I caught a few pellet heads with stomachs full of those critters. I am considering tying a few up myself:D

Every few years the conditions come together and the ants can provide a few days of awesome fishing on the Metolius. IF the ants are on there, it's worth making time....these are fairly large carpenter ants and foam patterns are my favorite.
