Who on here has fly fished Silverton Resevoir? If you had what areas of the lake are best to hit? Along the banks or out in the middle? What patterns? any dry fly action? Thanks guys! Looking forward to heading up there.

I grew up in Silverton and fished the reservoir fairly often. We trolled Wooly Buggers and did good with the pelletheads. I wouldn't say there's any one consistent spot - it's small enough to zig zag around and search though. Just see where the gear guys are hooking up. Paddle/row up the inlet and fish the creek with 12-14 caddis or small stimis.

I had a great day out there a few years back in my float tube. I first putted around with a black bugger and hooked a few. I then noticed that lots of fish were rising and I tied on a dry. Over the next hour I was pulling in fish after fish. Dry flies in a reservoir make for some great times. I would say that I was out in the middle more than near the side.

Interestingly enough, I've caught many pelletheads there trolling wolly buggers nearly as fast as I could row my toon.

There was a guy out there on a Sit on Top Kayak hooking into them pretty good Friday evening. I don't know what he was using, but he got three or four while I was there. Couldn't see size or species.
