Dear Bill,
May I say how fantastic just receiving the strike fighter was
Forgive me if i ramble a bit, but I hope it is relevant.
wayne was an active 17 year old, who was a brilliant ice skater and karate student. He also loved fishing and often spent days and evenings in quiet solitude. He was seriously attacked making his way home one evening and left for dead. He spent months in hospital, and months in rehabilitation, his courage allowed him to emerge in a wheelchair and paralyzed down his left side. He never gave up, and strives hard to regain skills. He always said he would walk again, despite doctors telling him it would never happen.
The years were long, and hard, but now, Wayne drives an adapted vehicle, is married, with a gorgeous 18 month old son, beautiful wife and lovely house, and holds down a full time job.
We have spent the last 11 years seeking out items and equipment which enable Wayne to be as independent as possible (one handed tin openers etc.....) his one big regret has been fishing, friends are kind, and go with him to do all the things needed, but - for Wayne it is not the same as enjoying the beauty of solitude, and achievement. He thinks he spoke to you some years ago, but ( sorry to say, our circumstances were not such that we could afford the cost of "luxuries", and could not proceed with any order for equipment. On his 28th birthday, I managed to find your site and ordered a "strikefighter" - I could not have imagined his reaction - overjoyed, would be putting it mildly and way too incomplete -! I can only say that Wayne is thrilled, and although he will need to make some adaptations to his rods (apparently, Americans have short butts? ) he will gladly be cutting his rods down to size--- Wayne intends to be out fishing for the first time in 11 years on his own (!) this weekend &relishes the thought of now being able to share his love with his son, thank you so so much for such a fantastic invention, I will let you know how it goes!
I am so sorry if I have rambled a bit, but you cannot imagine the great joy that we are currently experiencing by the prospect of Wayne being able to pursue a great love once again
Thank you, and bless you
Fiona Amber
