Update: My first bass of the year!

Woohoo. I had almost forgotten how much fun it is to catch these guys, almost until it all came back so quickly. Hit my honey hole this morning and within an hour I had caught and released 5 fish. All were around two pounds with one of them pushing three. I was using four inch senkos at first but had several lost fish due to the fish totally missing the hook, I then finally landed the first bass of the year. I then switched to a spinnerbait to get reaction bites and that turned out to be very productive. The next four fish were caught just minutes apart. I was slow rolling the spinnerbait near the bottom just over the weeds. What a blast!

Great start for the season. Don't give away your honey hole but what general area are you fishing. Looks like your a banker, I have been looking for some good bank access for smallies. Any suggestions, I also live in Beaverton. :pray: PM if ness.

Hit it again this morning and the bite was good in the first half hour. Landed two fish smaller than yesterday, but lost several others. Used the same exact spinnerbait but some reason the trailer hook was working much better yesterday. Then the bite just stopped and the fish stopped jumping. Probably best to have switched to the senko, but it was time to get to work. I hate when work gets in the way of fishing.

I have found a way to increase fishing success by at least 100%. Lose that job!
