For several years we have done an overnight drift of the Umpqua, from second bridge to Elkton, the third or fouth weekend in May. One year the bite was hot the next year the water was still cold and it turned out to be a beautiful trip but not a lot of action.

What might we expect the week of the 24th.?

Warm weather coming this next week. If it sticks, the fishing should be good. If it doesn't, you'll have a scenic trip. I've caught smallies in the South during that time of the year. The North should be high(for this time of year) and cold so in the main you could expect the same.

How about Shad? is it too cold for Bass, & Shad?
